Kindergarten Graduation/Summer 'Playdate'

I wanted to start a new tradition with friends from the neighborhood and what better way to start off summer then with a graduation/summer 'playdate'!?
We had about 12 kids over with their parents for a craft, playdate, and dinner!  I saw this awesome frame idea on the Oriental Trading page here and knew I couldn't pass on these sparkly picture frames!
I painted Elmer's glue onto each picture frame before the kids began.  Then they got to go crazy with glitter!  After the picture frames dried, I painted two coast of mod-lodge over the top to make sure that the glitter stayed put.  While working, each child had a tray and we used a disposable table cloth to make sure the glitter was easily cleaned!
The day after our kindergarten playdate, I delivered the frames into everyones mailbox. I printed pictures from our Oriental Trading inspired photo booth.
We had so much fun and everyone agreed that this would definitely be a new neighborhood tradition!

  1. Adorable! Where did you get the pretty plastic trays that the kids used to glue the glitter on the frames (and contain the mess)?
